i started staying in bed ten extra minutes on purpose, before i've done anything to deserve the day.
i don't reach for my phone, i just watch the light come up across the sheets.
it's the only part of the morning i'm not already getting ready for the next thing.
turns out the softest part of my day was there the whole time, i just kept getting up too fast for it.
